As a doula, these are the services I provide:

I offer a free initial consultation where we can discuss in detail your desires for your labor and birth, and my role as your labor support person. I will want to talk about any fears you have about labor and birth and what relaxation techniques you are interested in using during your labor. I can work with you to write a clear and useful birth plan. If you decide to hire me as your doula, I allow unlimited phone contact and additional home visits as necessary.

I will be on call for you beginning four weeks prior to your due date, to three weeks following. As soon as you want me there, I will be by your side to assist you in the ways we discussed at our visits. After the birth of your baby, I can give immediate postpartum assistance, helping you and your baby get settled and comfortably breastfeeding if needed, until the time that you and your family are ready for private bonding time.

I will visit you about one week after the birth of your baby, to talk about the experience, answer any questions, and admire your baby. At this visit I will give you a copy of your birth story.

Abiding by the DONA International goal of “a doula for every woman who wants one,” my fees are based on a sliding scale.
